When Samantha began the tuition assistance process with Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium, she was preparing to enter her third semester in Kirtland Community College’s Nursing program—and juggling two jobs as a CNA and a server just to make ends meet.

Through her participation in the program, Samantha received support with tuition, mileage reimbursement for classes and clinicals, and assistance with required textbooks. This support helped ease the financial strain and allowed her to stay focused on completing her degree.

In December, Samantha proudly graduated with her nursing degree and has since secured employment at McReynolds Hall, a skilled nursing facility in Gaylord, where she is now putting her skills to work and beginning her nursing career.
