Marisue Moreau, Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium Director, Retires after 30 Years

Marisue Moreau is happy to announce her retirement from Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium on May 31, 2024. Moreau has been with Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium for the past 30 years, committed to workforce development and delivering accessible and effective employment and training resources to her community and the 8-county region of northeast lower Michigan. Marisue started with Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium (NEMC) in 1994 as Fiscal Officer. In 2012, she transitioned to NEMC Director. She has a Bachelors in Accounting from Ferris State University and is actively involved in her local Chamber of Commerce and church. She has also served on the Governor's Talent Investment Board, as a Member of Northeast Michigan Council of Government (NEMCOG) board, Thunder Bay Transportation Authority (TBTA) board, MEDC-Collaborative Development Council (CDC), Region 3 Offender Success Steering Team/Advisory Council Region 3 Regional Prosperity Initiative, Otsego County College Access Network (OCCAN), Michigan Works! Association Legislative Committee, Michigan Works! Association Finance Committee, and Michigan Works! Association Board of Directors. Marisue and her husband Michael have lived in Onaway for over 20 years, raising two sons (Evan and Kyle). After years of work trips to Washington D.C., Lansing, MI and other meetings across the state, Marisue is looking forward to traveling solely for pleasure in the years to come. While she is sad to say goodbye to her work family and all she has built at NEMC, she is proud of how far the organization has come and hopeful for NEMC's future.


Marisue has passed the torch to the new NEMC Director, Jessica Topp, who has assumed the position on June 1. Jessica has been with Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium for 7 years, working as field staff and management prior to this role. She has her MBA and Business Solutions Professional Certification.
