From Career Transition to a New Opportunity

After mutually parting ways with his previous employer, Mitch found himself ready for a fresh start. He wanted a stable career with long-term potential, and commercial driving quickly stood out as the path he wanted to pursue. To make that goal a reality, however, he needed his CDL-A endorsement and assistance covering the cost of training.

Mitch turned to Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium, where Career Advisor Tracy Bohl and Youth Career Advisor Erin O’Rourke helped guide him through the training assistance process. With support from Michigan Works!, Mitch received tuition assistance and mileage reimbursement, allowing him to fully focus on completing his CDL-A training.

Once enrolled in training at Road Warrior Truck Driving School, Mitch quickly stood out for his dedication and work ethic. His instructor shared, “He did fantastic! Great student, thanks for sending him our way.”

Through hard work and determination, Mitch successfully earned his CDL-A endorsement and secured employment with Team Elmer’s as a concrete mixer driver beginning in April.

What started as a difficult career transition became a story of resilience, growth, and new opportunity. Today, Mitch is confidently moving forward on a new career path with a strong future ahead.
