After completing his incarceration, E was ready to move forward and get back to work. Before serving time, he had held a CDL-A, but because he was unable to renew the license while incarcerated, it had expired. After confirming with the Secretary of State that he would need to complete CDL-A training again, E turned to Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium for help.
Eager to get his life back on track, E quickly completed the application process for tuition assistance. With support from Michigan Works!, he attended Road Warrior Truck Driving School and successfully regained his CDL-A by early July.
By the end of the month, E had already secured new employment as a CDL-A driver with GS Incorporated.
E's journey is a great example of determination and the power of a second chance. By taking the steps needed to regain his credential, he was able to overcome a barrier to employment and get back behind the wheel in a new career.
