Atlanta Students Tour Moran Iron Works and Industrial Arts Institute

November 13, 2024  - Four students from Atlanta High School had the opportunity to tour the facilities at both Moran Iron Works and Industrial Arts Institute in Onaway.  

The day began at Moran Iron Works with a brief presentation about what the company does before a tour of the entire facility. Students were engaged as they walked through the facility looking at different large projects the company is working on right now. They were able to see and learn about many different types of equipment and see many of them at work.

Following that tour the students traveled down the road to Industrial Arts Institute. At the institute they learned about the many specific scholarships available to Industrial Arts Institute students and how the “class” is treated more like a job. They were able to see students display tables, where all the projects they have worked on are displayed for prospective employers near graduation.
