Rory started in the Michigan Works! Youth Programming during the Summer 2024, when she enrolled in the Career Readiness and Exploration program. After completing the Summer CRE, Rory made the decision to continue working with Michigan Works! in both group programming and 1-on-1 mentorship with Youth Career Advisor Mitchel Dipzinski to build her leadership and employability skills. She was enrolled in Jobs for Michigan Graduates (JMG) Program and quickly began participating to her fullest abilities, including attending the JMG Leadership Days. This dedication to bettering herself and developing these skills led to her nomination for the JMG awards. We’re proud to announce that Rory was chosen to represent the Alpena/Alcona area as the recipient of the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates Excellence in Youth Leadership Award.
