After completing a period of personal and professional transition, Storm was ready to re-enter the workforce but faced financial barriers to getting started. He was interested in earning his CDL-A to access higher-paying, in-demand career opportunities and learned about potential training assistance through Road Warrior Truck Driving School.

Storm connected with Michigan Works! Career Advisor Niki Chamberlain, who helped him access tuition assistance and mileage reimbursement to attend training. This support removed key financial barriers and made it possible for him to pursue his certification.

With the help of Michigan Works!, Storm successfully completed his CDL-A training and quickly secured employment with Premier Voltage Power Line Co. He is set to begin work in mid-April, earning a starting wage of $34 per hour.

Storm shared, “I was able to obtain my CDL-A thanks to the help from Michigan Works!. They helped with tuition and mileage, which made a huge difference.”

Through targeted support and training, Storm was able to launch a new career path and move forward with confidence.
