Michigan Works! secures training grants for Northeast Michigan employers

Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium has secured $239,553 in competitive grants from the State of Michigan's Going PRO Talent Fund for Grant Cycle 2 (the second of two cycles for 2024). The four awarded employers will be able to enhance their workforce and continue to grow with new training and development. Awarded companies include Arauco in Grayling, Cooper Standard in Gaylord, Wayne Wire Cloth Products Inc in Hillman, and Weyerhaeuser in Grayling. In 2024, Michigan Works! has helped 16 employers secure over $513k in Going PRO grants.

The Going PRO talent fund allows for employers to pay for training and apprenticeships, and helps show employees that they have the tools to set them up for success, which helps to keep jobs here in Northeast Michigan and have a significant financial impact.

Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium specializes in educating, training, and employing individuals of all ages. They also provide additional resources to support growth and hiring needs, and retain employees. Connect with your local Michigan Works! office at miworksne.org.
