Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium Receives over $275k in Going PRO Talent Fund Awards


January 31- Gov. Gretchen Whitmer joined the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity to announce $47,000,000 in Going PRO Talent Fund grants to nearly 750 Michigan businesses to support their in-demand, high-skill talent needs, and help approximately 27,000 workers across the state secure employment, industry-recognized credentials and strong wages. Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium received awards totaling $275,200 for ten businesses in our region, including: Link Industries and TF-R, Inc. (Tube Fab Roman Engineering) in Cheboygan County, AJD Forest Products, Springs Window Fashions, and Weyerhaeuser in Crawford County, Cooper Standard Automotive (Gaylord), H&S Mold, Inc., and H&H Tube (Vanderbilt) in Otsego County, Ossineke Industries in Alpena County, and H.B. Carbide Company in Montmorency County. Awards ranged from $4,000 to $124,204. In addition, Medilodge locations in our region also received over $152k in Going PRO Talent Fund Awards, applied for through their corporate headquarters. Additional funding will be available through the second cycle of Talent Fund awards, which will open late spring. Employers are encouraged to apply as Industry-Led Collaboratives starting in March 2023.
