Michael was recently terminated from his position at Alro Steel due to an attendance issue. He came to Michigan Works! interested in getting his CDL-A through Road Warrior Truck Driving School. He stated that several members of his family have worked in this career field, which allowed him to become familiar with the requirements, and believed it would provide him more opportunities and be a better fit for him.

Utilizing WIOA Dislocated Worker funding Michigan Works! Career Advisor Chelsea Bertagnoli was able to help Michael receive tuition assistance to pursue his CDL-A.

Michael gained employment with Milikin Excavating as a Plow Truck Driver even before starting his CDL-A training. Milikin stated that they'd be willing to promote him to CDL-A driver once he obtained his license. Upon completing training with Road Warrior, Michael was promoted and will be receiving a $7 raise after 6-months with the company.

Michael is very happy with his new career. After feeling defeated after termination from Alro, he was very pleased he was able to turn his career around within two months!
