Gaining Independence Through Reliable Transportation

We are proud to share the success story of Tracy, who came to Michigan Works! seeking support on her path toward greater independence and self-sufficiency.

For quite some time, Tracy had no choice but to rely on her bicycle as her only means of transportation. Rain or shine, and through all seasons, she pedaled to and from work—demonstrating unwavering dedication and commitment to her job and her goals. While her perseverance was inspiring, it was also a daily hardship that made her journey more difficult than it needed to be.

Through the resources available at Michigan Works!, and funding from the Talent and Growth Initiative, Michigan Works! was able to secure reliable transportation for Tracy. With the purchase of a vehicle, she no longer has to rely on a bicycle for her daily commute. This crucial step has opened the door to new opportunities, improved her quality of life, and given her the ability to confidently manage her work schedule without the physical toll and limitations of her former routine.

We are honored to have supported Tracy on this journey and look forward to seeing her continued success as she moves forward with newfound freedom and stability. Congratulations Tracy!
