Jacob was at risk of losing his job. His vehicle had become unreliable, leading to repeated attendance issues and even written warnings from his employer. With no savings and an old car deemed unsafe due to extensive needed repairs, Jacob was stuck—he simply couldn’t afford to purchase another vehicle on his own. That’s when Jacob turned to Michigan Works! for help.

Through the Talent and Growth Barrier Removal Initiative, Michigan Works! was able to purchase a dependable, pre-owned Ford Explorer for him. With reliable transportation, Jacob no longer had to worry about making it to work or risking his steady job.

The results were immediate. Jacob’s consistent attendance and renewed peace of mind didn’t go unnoticed—management recognized his dedication and offered him a promotion. Today, Jacob is not only keeping his job, but moving forward in his career, all thanks to the support that helped him get back on the road to success.
