Benjamin smiles in his graduation cap and gold cords while standing outside a glass building, hands in pockets, in bright sunlight.

When Benjamin was pursuing his bachelor's degree in HVAC/R Engineering and Energy Management at Ferris State University, one of his biggest challenges was figuring out how to pay for college. Without finding financial assistance, he’d have to work additional hours while attending school fulltime or take on significant student loan debt.

Through support from Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium, Benjamin received tuition assistance that helped ease the financial burden of higher education. The support allowed him to spend more time focusing on his coursework, studying, and completing labs instead of worrying about finances.

Benjamin's hard work paid off when he graduated cum laude with his bachelor's degree, a significant accomplishment that reflected his dedication and perseverance. Along the way, he learned the value of hard work and gained a deeper appreciation for how impactful a helping hand can be when pursuing ambitious goals.

Today, Benjamin is putting his education to work as a Project Manager with Moore Mechanical in Traverse City, where he has launched his career and is excited for the opportunities ahead.

Benjamin shared his gratitude for the assistance he received, noting that the support from Michigan Works! played an important role in helping him complete his degree and achieve his career goals.
