Kylie began working with Michigan Works! by being an active participant in the Summer Career Readiness and Exploration program where she worked on developing her employability skills and prepare for a part-time job. Working with Youth Career Advisor Allison Oakes, Kylie was enrolled in the WIOA Youth program, which enabled her to receive needed supports to help reach her educational and employment goals, including clothing for school and employment, resume assistance, and more.
Kylie also enrolled in the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG) program, where she was able to attend Legislative Day at the Michigan Capitol and participate in the Career Development Conference, where she actively sought out and engaged in leadership activities and events.
Kylie is currently a junior at Atlanta Community Schools, where she is active in band and “Students Leading Students”. She is also employed part-time in food service and is studying to work towards her goal of a career in Wildlife Ecology.
Most recently, Kylie was honored to receive the JMG “Excellence in Youth Leadership” award.
