David was all set to start a new job when he discovered his brakes needed immediate replacement and his car was undriveable. He didn’t have the money for the car repairs and he couldn’t take public transportation, since it didn’t run to his new job location. David came to Michigan Works! to see if there was any assistance they could provide.
Michigan Works! Career Navigator, Mary Davis, utilized the Barrier Removal Employment Services funding (BRES) to help David get the necessary auto repairs. David really didn’t want this unexpected situation to impact his future, and thanks to this funding being available, he was able to get to work and not lose his new job!
