Casey started back to work at his seasonal job as a painter on Mackinaw Island. After his first week of work, he locked his bike and headed home for the weekend. When he came back to work the following Monday he found the lock had been cut and his bike had been stolen. He needed a bicycle to be able to commute to work on the island, so he went to the Salvation Army. They referred him to Michigan Works! and Michigan Works! was able to help him with the purchase of a new bike thanks to funding from the BRES program (Barrier Removal Employment Success).
Casey says the customer service he received from Michigan Works! was outstanding and he learned that there are people out there who can help when you need it. He also plans to get a better chain and lock for his bike in the future.
