Alvin was about to start a new job, but he needed new work boots before his first day. He didn’t have any money to buy the new boots he needed, so he came to Michigan Works! in Cheboygan seeing if they could help.

Career Navigator Kelli Gallagher was able to utilize BRES funding (Barrier Removal Employment Success) to purchase new steel-toed work boots for Alvin immediately so he would be ready for his first week of work

Alvin was thankful for the assistance Michigan Works! provided and says he plans to learn to budget better in the future to make sure he has some extra money on hand for work expenses that may come up.
