Making a Dream Career Possible

Taylen was nervous about taking on the challenge of CDL-A training. Although earning a commercial driver's license was an important career goal, the training process, paperwork, and costs felt overwhelming.

With support from Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium, Taylen enrolled at Road Warrior Truck Driving School. Michigan Works! helped cover training costs, assisted with paperwork, and provided mileage reimbursement to help with travel expenses. Staff also checked in throughout the process to help Taylen stay on track.

Despite the challenges, Taylen persevered and successfully earned a CDL-A credential and license. That accomplishment quickly opened the door to a new opportunity: employment with Pierce Powerline in Bay City.

Reflecting on the experience, Taylen shared, “Thanks to Michigan Works! for helping me make my dream come true and now off to bigger and better things.”

Taylen's journey shows how training assistance, encouragement, and personalized guidance can help individuals overcome uncertainty, earn valuable credentials, and move toward their career goals.
