Kirsten is employed at Shell gas station and started a new, second job, at McDonalds, along with starting college courses at ACC. Money was tight and she needed a little assistance to make ends meet. She came to Michigan Works! in Alpena to see if they could help.

Kirsten worked with Michigan Works! Career Navigator Rebecca and thanks to the BRES Program (Barrier Removal Employment Success) she was able to get the assistance she needed. Rebecca was able to help Kirsten with gas money until she earned her first paycheck from her new job. This assistance helped Kirsten make it to both jobs and school, until her second job’s paychecks started coming in.
